The “வணிக வித்தகர் 2026” competition was organised by the Batch IX students of the Master of Business Administration (MBA) Programme, Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce, University of Jaffna, led by Eng. T. Karthikeyan. The competition was held on 31 October and 01 November 2026, with the participation of 29 schools from the Jaffna District.
The competition provided an excellent platform for school students to demonstrate their business knowledge, analytical thinking, problem-solving abilities, creativity and interpersonal skills through a series of competitive rounds. Following several rounds of competition, Manipay Ladies’ College emerged as the overall champions in the final round held on 01 November 2026.
The winning team was awarded a shield and cash prizes in recognition of their outstanding performance. The award presentation ceremony was graced by Senior Professor T. Velnampy, Vice Chancellor of the University of Jaffna; Professor P. Pratheepkanth, Dean of the Faculty of Management Studies and Commerce; Professor M. A. Shanthakumary, Coordinator of the MBA Programme; Heads of Departments; Professors; academic staff members; and the Deputy Registrar of the Faculty. The successful organisation of “வணிக வித்தகர் 2026” demonstrates the commitment of the MBA students to strengthening university school engagement and fostering business awareness, entrepreneurial thinking and management skills among school students.
